The White Dress by the Shore is a charming shop in Clinton, CT. As a resident of Manhattan, I visited many stores in New York and Southern Connecticut prior to my appointment at Beth Chapman’s delightful boutique. From the moment I walked into her store, which could serve as a back drop to one of Nora Ephron’s romantic films, I was enamored.
Stunning wedding gowns of satin, silk and lace line the mint green walls – each having their own distinct and classic look. Antique-glass armoires display stunning jewelry and accessories while oversized mirrors reflect the sparkle and light from each case. You can feel the subtle background wedding classic, Pachel’s Cannon, lift your imagination and transform you to your future wedding day.
Beth’s attention to detail and impeccable sense of style is clearly evident in her store. My bridesmaids’ dresses also came from her collection and when I was deciding on a color she used her vision on what I might like and suggested adding a small brooch to accent the girl’s Cayman blue sash. Everyone looked stunning.
Visiting the White Dress by the Shore is an experience. It is so much more than I can possibly say; it will remain etched in my mind for years to come and I look forward to returning with my sister and friends when it is their time to plan their special day.
