The Barns at Wesleyan Hills

The Barns at Wesleyan Hills Connecticut

From your exchange of vows with panoramic views of our gorgeous willow trees, to dancing the night away in our authentic 150 year old dairy barn, your wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills will be nothing short of extraordinary!

Enjoy our newly built (Spring 2016) Middle Barn for your cocktail hour (pictures below)! The post and beam structure was build by a local craftsman using Northern Connecticut Hemlock … the same building material that the original barn was constructed from back in 1872.

The Barns at Wesleyan Hills has been featured on “Say Yes To The Dress”, been an editors pick on The Knot website several times and was featured as the Country Dream Wedding venue in Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings by David Tutera.

What Connecticut wedding professionals have to say about The Barns at Wesleyan Hills:

Ever since I stumbled on the Barns at Wesleyan Hills, over 10 years ago I have always enjoyed this blank canvas as a designer. The uniqueness of this venue with tented blue stone porch allows you to decorate almost two themes as the barn has contrasting warm tones with tall framed ceilings. This venue pops with eclectic nostalgia when uplighted trees, chandeliers or  fabric is used along the rafters.  Pavilion Catering Group offers this venue and their team is wonderful to work with. Stunning and rustic.  The views are amazing! Keri Anne Shea – K Shea & Company

This classic New England venue with its Well-cared-for grounds provides a stunning backdrop for photos. The Weeping Willows provide a dream-like atmosphere for us to capture intimate moments. A lovely place indeed!

I don't even know where to start with how I feel about my experience with The Barns at Wesleyan Hills. I can honestly say that without the Connecticut Wedding Group (the hosts of the Barns), and particularly my wedding coordinator Mary Beth, I probably would have had a mental break down from stress lol! From the second we signed the contract and secured our date, until the wedding, The Connecticut Wedding Group was by my side, answering questions, offering suggestions, and making my life a whole lot easier. And the venue? We'll I think that speaks for itself. I saw the pictures online and assumed I could never afford it (my first mistake). Then I thought "it can't actually look like that in person" (my second mistake). We walked in, and it was EXACTLY what it looks like online. In fact, it is even PRETTIER in person if that is possible. And, after sitting down with them to go over the details, we realized while it was on the higher side of our price range, it was absolutely affordable. After working with them, I'd say it was a STEAL based on how much we actually got. The food was AMAZING. They let us go to both tastings (their menu's range by season) and allowed me to put together the buffet of my dreams, all while being sensitive to my food allergies. While most people miss their cocktail hours due to photo's, they brought our cocktail hour to us by making sure we had plenty to eat, and a never ending supply of drinks. By the end of the night, every person close to me knew about Mary Beth and what an asset she was. In fact, any time someone had a question, someone else would chime in with "I bet Mary Beth knows!" (Mary Beth, if you are reading this, I'm pretty sure my family would adopt you now if given the opportunity LOL). I couldn't have DREAMED up a better wedding day. I've heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests and every picture I've seen trickle in on Facebook so far only further confirms why we made the decision we did. If you are thinking of booking the Barns, or any of their venues, get on the phone and call NOW. Secure your date and focus your stress elsewhere! :)

We had our wedding at the Barns at Wesleyan Hills on June 20th 2008 and it was literally perfect! We had so much help and support from all those who work at the barns and were so happy with how organized and put together is was without feeling stuffy. The barns is beatiful and the perfect setting for a fun and rustic but elegant wedding. Traci was awesome and warm and I just loved her. Our guests keep talking about how amazing the food was and how it was "the best wedding they've ever been to!" Thanks so much for making our dreams come true

My husband and I also wanted to find a site that was unique and would provide a great building block for putting our creative ideas together for our wedding day. We had planned an entire outdoor ceremony, and unfortunately had to be married under a tent in the courtyard due to rain. But regardless, the Barns were so perfect for a cozy feeling and intimate gathering place for all of our guests. We decorated the barn with a dramatic cascade of light from the center beam outwards. It was exactly what I had pictured and so dramatic. On first glance, the Barns appear dark and cold, but if you consider different lighting options, you can really make it quite elegant. I highly recommend having your wedding here. The price can't be beat!

Words can't describe how pleased I was with my experience at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills and Pavilion Catering. When looking for facilities I was looking for something unique and different. At first I was nervous about using a barn instead of a traditional banquet hall, but the staff at Pavilion went above and beyond. Traci was just terrific! Every detail from the ceremony on the island to the cocktail hour under the tent in the courtyard was handled beautifully. The staff was so friendly and helped me with any little request I made. Guests are still coming up to me to tell me how good the food was. Personally, I haven't tasted anything that can compare to the shrimp cocktail and the prime rib that I had.
