[shareaholic app=”share_buttons” id=”4830626″]As bride, past or present, knows, planning a dreamy wedding day isn’t always a fun walk in the park. There’s budgeting to consider, there’s “to do” list to tackle, and there’s several decisions that must be made before you can celebrate your big day with the love of your life, friends, and family members by your side. Now — imagine planning every single detail of your wedding day from halfway across the globe. The thought would make most start shaking in their shoes, but not this couple captured by Donna Cheung Photography. They planned their beach wedding day all the way from Singapore!

From afar, Lyn and Jon chose the beautiful Lighthouse Point Park for their celebration. As soon as they saw the coastal setting, the on-site vintage carousel, and amazing lighthouse, they had no doubts that this Connecticut backdrop was the place for them. From there, they enlisted the help of local planner, Lisa of Nightingale Events, to help them nail down unique decor picks for their travel-inspired theme and work out specifics of their day’s itinerary. The trio made an excellent team and everything came together with a bright, whimsical feel!

Lyn wore a beautiful wedding gown and tropical-themed flower crown that made her look like a seaside goddess. Her fresh-faced makeup and loose waves were done by the beauty experts at Naomi’s Studio and Salon, adding a final touch of pretty to her look. All gussied up with her bridesmaids in coral dresses, Lynn and her best friends headed out to the carousel and the beachside for some fun portraits together. The ceremony on the beach that followed soon after was nothing short of stunning! After walking down the aisle on her father’s arm, Lyn and Jon exchanged vows under an arbor accented with white tulle and bright florals. During this special time, the couple wanted observe Lyn’s Chinese roots, so they incorporated a traditional tea ceremony into their I dos. Seeking blessing from their elders, Lyn and Jon served their parents with a customary cup of sweet Chinese tea. In return, parents and family members provided their approval of their union by sharing small gifts with the bride and groom. The tradition was an absolutely amazing way to incorporate Lyn’s roots and provided a sweet personal touch.

Up next, the newlyweds celebrated with their friends and family with a reception on the carousel pavilion filled with lovely floral arrangements by The Flower Box and foods prepared by Fitzgerald’s Fine Catering Since 1948. On the reception tables, postcards and assorted vintage vases with pink flowers made for adorable centerpieces. An old globe served as the couple’s guest book, a nod to their traveled-theme. And, a retro suitcase with a DIY banner made for a super-cute card box station!

See? We told you that they did an amazing job planning their beach wedding from afar. Now, there’s one thing to do now — check out the prettiness in the pictures below!
