Fresh and contemporary, and elegantly understated, The Candlewood Inn wedding venue resides on a private three acre parcel located directly on Candlewood Lake in Brookfield, Connecticut. With 500 feet of uncluttered waterfront, your guests can sip cocktails on the terrace and then enjoy dinner in the dining room with spectacular lake views. When the stars come out, twinkling chandeliers and many original fixtures create an ambiance which is warm and festive.

The Candlewood Inn rests on perhaps the most scenic spot on the lake, at both its widest point (over two miles) and with a western exposure, giving it front row seats to the lake’s glorious sunsets. Crisply styled for hosting elegant gatherings, the classic main dining room seats up to 300 and offers lake views through 8-foot-high picture windows. What attracts many people to the inn is the juxtaposition of the inn’s formal interior with the casual lake setting. Lakefront terraces are used for hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and wedding ceremonies can take place on the expansive lawn along 500 feet of shoreline or under an archway set up dockside with nothing but lake and hills in the background.

The Inn belongs to the Elegant Banquets family of facilities that have been proudly hosting elegant events since 1986. Our three other Connecticut venues include The Riverview, which opened in 2008, The Waterview, which opened in 2003, and The Fox Hill Inn, which opened in 1986.

You MUST have your wedding here. I was sooooooooo nervous ahead of time, but it was absolutely perfect. The food was excellent, the staff was excellent, the place was beautiful, they ran everything like clockwork, but we never felt rushed !! My daughter and her new husband were taken care of by their own personal attendants all night long !!!! A fabulous time was had by all, wish we could do it all over again, wouldn't change a thing !!! Thank you so much Candlewood Inn for all your hard work!!

We could not have asked for more on our wedding day from the Candlewood Inn. During the year and half before our wedding day, Christian and his staff were extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. They were very organized and helped to keep us stress free. On the day of our wedding the staff was so attentive and ensured that our guests and us (the bride and groom) were having a good time. We even had two lovely staff members assigned to us all day. They brought food from our cocktail hour to the bridal suite to ensure that we were able to enjoy our cocktail hour. All of the food was excellent, all our guests were commenting on it. The cake that their in house bakery made looked amazing and was delicious. And one cannot forget the beautiful view of Candlewood Lake. Overall we could not have been happier with The Candlewood Inn and their wonderful team.

The Candlewood Inn, its staff, its location, and its ambiance made our wedding day perfect! They make you feel like the most important person in the world and take excellent care of all guests. On our first visit we were taken aback by the gorgeous scenery, but what impessed us most was their dedication to getting all the details of our wedding just the way we wanted them. When we dropped off all our decor items, we knew Christian would take care of everything. Knowing our wedding was in good hands was the only reason I got any sleep the night before! The staff was helpful and courteous, almost psychicly aware of our every need! Our guests raved about the food, the service... everything! It was truly a night to remember.

Our Candlewood Inn experience was nothing short of incredible. The staff is a "well oiled machine". From start to finish, our guests could not stop raving about the service, the food and the location. We did not have to worry about a thing. Christian and crew are very professional and personable. They know their business which allowed myself and my husband to enjoy our day. Prior to having my wedding there, when asked where I was having my wedding, I would tell people, "The Candlewood". Anyone who had ever been there...from a wedding, or any other type of party had wonderful things to say. In addition, a friend who is a chef at a local well known restaurant also raved about the food. So if the "foodie" is happy, you know the food is done right! Our wedding was a day event, which allowed our guests to enjoy the beautiful autumn view of the lake. It was perfect.

I can't say enough about the Candlewood Inn...It's absolutely beautiful. The scenery at night with the sunset is breathtaking. The staff is incredible. They are extremely accommodating and easy to work with. They will do pretty much whatever you want. Christian organized the entire day and he is a true professional...The food is absolutely delicious and the facility is gorgeous. The weather was a bit questionable the night of our wedding - and although it wasn't sunny during the ceremony, the incredible backdrop of Candlewood Lake more than made up for it. I'd highly recommend them.
You pay for the weather
If you manage to get a beautiful day, the Candlewood Inn is unbelievable. With two huge windows overlooking the dance floor, your entire crowd gets to watch the sun set from their tables over the Lake as well as take advantage of their great patio and back lawn on the lake. Forget the whole overdone old mansion thing, nothing matches the ambience that the sunset will bring you. It's amazing. Aside from that, it has an awesome back lawn for pictures, the place is immaculate and spacious enough to where it's roomy, yet still very personal. I can't say enough about the staff, as they were impeccable. And the food was tremendous. My only flaw with the Candlewood Inn would be the incumbent dissappointment if you didn't get beautiful weather. And if you are looking for that old architecture charm, you are not getting it at the Candlewood. It has a very newlly built/remodeled feel, which I suppose can feel a little generic, but it's so nice, you don't. Two hugs thumbs up.

I photographed 6 in a row at Candlewood, and each and every time their staff was pleasent, couteuos, professional and very organized. They perfected their system of service, the quality of their food is incredible, and even the presentation was unique, like you expect from a 5 star bistro, The serene beauty of the lake is heartwarming any time of the year. What I find really interesting from a photo standpoint, is that the facility itself is classy, warm, comforting in it color choices, yet simple enough that each individual couple creates their own ambience.

If you are looking for a new, elegant, open facility with great views of a lake through huge windows and the chance of seeing the sunset over the lake, Candlewood is worth considering. It's a little pricey, but the help there, along with the facility is great. The only knock might be that the hall may feel a little generic in that it being somewhat new. It has a little of that new condo feel. It doesn't have that old, history captured, classy feel to it. But it makes up for that with the view, the space, the service, and the location. The space is wide open and you can arrange as you choose. Overlooking the dance floor are a couple of huge semicircle windows of the lake, and on a clear night, the sunset. It has a large open backyard and landing on the lake. Like I said, it's a little pricey, but has a lot to offer
