Rent-A-DJ
- Mom |
| REALLY Terrible! |
| After several phone conversations and an hour-long meeting with Joy from Rent-A-DJ to go over all the details, we were assured by Joy that Rent-A-DJ would correctly and professionally deliver the formalities at our son’s beautiful wedding reception.
Unfortunately, the DJ sent by Rent-A-DJ was not professional and knew nothing about music or sound. There were several problems noticed by us and our guests, but we let them go in the spirit of the day. But then he INTRODUCED THE BRIDE INTO THE RECEPTION WITH THE WRONG NAME! The DJ didn’t mispronounce her name – he just decided to call her something else!
When we contact Joy to let her know of our disappointment, her response was that our expectations were too high. I believe professional DJ’s know the importance of getting the Bride’s name correct, so I think our expectations are normal. Joy’s attitude was that she didn’t care that we weren’t satisfied with the service we paid for.
So if you are getting married and want a professional DJ who will announce your name correctly, don’t be fooled – Stay away from Rent-A-DJ. They talk a good game until you sign the contract, but deliver substandard service. |

| Sorry to hear you felt this way about Rent a DJ, Believe me it is ok to say how you feel. But truth be told Patricia I have never stated nor was my attitude such that I didn’t care. I did however apologize for the DJ mispronouncing the groomsman name wrong. You first complained that the DJ kept coming in and asking how to say the name. Your words were that it “became annoying” after 4 times. Well sorry to say He was trying to avoid this mistake. I also apologize for the DJ calling the Bride Kathy (which in fact her name is Kathleen) go figure. As far as the “several problems” you have so shortly mentioned, that Guests and yourself had noticed occurring when you were in another room waiting for announcements. Your complaint was that you and the wedding party were waiting for a long time to be announced in and, that you, no… a guest said that the DJ was eating h’orderves and made the wedding party wait. When in fact, another professional company that was hired for your day, had gone missing and two other persons had to go find him. This was brought to the DJ’s attention when he was just about to announce everyone in. Your words: “if he were a professional he would have noticed it”. Well he did, that’s why he had you waiting. I think it would have been un-professional for him too go to the bride and let her know what was going on. I did meet with both the bride and the groom a week before the wedding. We went over all the music selections, songs they liked and songs they didn’t want to hear. The groom was going to email me the song he wanted to dance with his mom to. Even though we state that we need all paper work and lists returned two weeks before the wedding. We try to do our best for last minute changes. I think we handled it very well for getting the email the night before the wedding and after the office was closed. The DJ did have a concern and bought it to the bride’s mother, that a half hour before he was to end and your family band was to start, that dinner was still being served and he didn’t get to play any of the dance music that was the Bride asked too be played. The decision was made to play the music and people could dance while others were eating. You made it Very clear that you and your family had a band and that there were lots of DJ’s and musicians at your event. Being in this profession and being human we all make little mistakes like mispronouncing a name (which again I apologize for) but being a vender and working with other venders we all try to work together and make sure we can have everything run smoothly. Someone always has to get blamed on the behind the scene stuff. In ending our phone conversation you made it very clear that you would let whomever and everyone know not to use Rent A DJ. I feel everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. I wish the Bride and groom a healthy and Happy future. I also hope that you being a professional never make a mistake and have a successful future in the music business.
I Thank you for using Rent a DJ. |
