Giovanni's II, known as a "serious steakhouse," may hold the best-kept secret for wedding receptions. The outside, with its beautiful masonry and garden, evokes images of Italy. Visually, the most impressive part is the romantic Swan Suite, with its quiet, beige harlequin-patterned walls, fine table linens, graceful chairs and polished granite dance floor. But surrounding this suite, which accommodates up to 300 people, are rooms for preceding cocktails or hors d'oeuvres or more intimate banquets.

waitress

The particular waitress that attended my guests and I was bumbling, about 25% inept and slow. She was brazen enough to call me to account when I tipped her 12.5% instead of the customary 15%. The bill of a little more than $225.00 was high enough, although not out of line, that I felt that an additional $25.00 tip was more than adequate for speaking to a person who did not cook the food, did not clean up the table, was bumbling and slow. Her calling me to the carpet was insulting, brazen and embarassing before my guests. Her action has made me furious and angry. I found her to be a nasty person and I will refuse her service in the future. I like the restaurant though.
