What Connecticut wedding professionals have to say about this wedding venue:

I love the old world feel of this venue.  I also am infatuated with the all white ‘cottages’ that the bride and her bridal party can stay in.  Jackie and her staff at Lord Thompson Manor can create an entire weekend out of your wedding and it is pure magic!   – Beth Chapman – White Dress by the shore

The Lord Thompson Manor is a gorgeous venue with amazing grounds.  It is great for private weddings, I love the concept of their  “weekend wedding”.  I also love the Cottage House where brides get ready, it is so bright and airy and makes for some incredible wedding pictures.”   Candace Jeffery – Candace Jeffery Photography

We had an amazing wedding this past July at the Lord Thompson Manor! Everything was a 5 star experience- from the moment we came to visit through the wedding weekend itself. There are no words to convey our thanks to them for planning with us throughout the process, and ultimately, putting on an unforgettable night for our family and friends. All weekend we were able to relax and enjoy knowing that we were in good hands. They even did all of our floral arrangements which turned out stunning and embodied the exact vision we had. We got so many compliments on the flowers and decor and people were also raving about the outside whiskey and cigar bar we had (it made for a great place, especially for our non-dancers, to spend their time.) And the food....the food was beyond even my high expectations! Our guests came expecting typical wedding food and left impressed by every bite from Friday night rehearsal dinner to Sunday morning brunch. The chef worked with us on the menu to ensure that it fit our diverse crowd perfectly. I am fairly critical and rarely a review writer however working with the Lord Thompson Manor made an impact on me. We really wanted the whole weekend to feel intimate and fun. The Manor added special touches here and there that created a whimsical but sophisticated atmosphere. I have dreamed of my wedding day for so many years and had such high expectations for the day, so high I was unsure anything could live up to it. The Manor really made it come true for us. It took a lot of time and energy but it was exactly what we wanted for our big day. So I wanted to pass this along, because every bride deserves that!

Words cannot fully express the extent to which we are indebted to Lord Thompson Manor for making our wedding the most special, memorable, and enjoyable weekend of our lives. The staff, Kate and Ted in particular, at the manor made us and our guests feel like family from the moment we walked in on Friday, to our departure on Sunday. With regard to planning, Jackie went above and beyond to make our vision come true, with last minute surprises and unexpected details. 2 weeks later, we are still getting calls about our wedding, people wanted to "relive" it with us, saying it was the best they've ever attended. I can truly say I have not one complaint, or even any small things I would have changed about my wedding. It was the perfect weekend wedding venue!

here are not enough words in the English language to describe how amazing the Lord Thompson Manor staff, grounds, and proprietors are. My +1 & I were shopping around for a venue in CT and happened upon the Manor. We took a more unconventional route to this decision. In March of ‘09 I asked Andrew if it were possible to have a tour of the property and also spend the weekend in the Cottage House. This is something that they do not usually do but Andrew was willing to accommodate us. The weekend was wonderful, breakfast tasty, the fireplace and the room...beyond!! After we fell in love with the property, operation “get our mothers on board” commenced. It was as if the gods wanted us to be married at the manor. We visited again in early March of ‘10, a snow storm was on deck & a light dusting of snow covered the grounds. Andrew gave a tour of the house as the snow fell outside; when touring the grounds you feel as if you are in another world. From the drive down the tree lined road to the manor rising up and appearing from a distance, the beauty is overwhelming. We then settled in for the night at the main house with fires burning creating the perfect atmosphere. When we woke the next morning it was a winter wonderland. They were SOLD! The Plan worked. We got married Labor Day Weekend of 2011. From the moment we arrive everything fell into place. All the months of corresponding created the perfect reflection of my vision. The rehearsal dinner was delectable, Chef Mike is a true and consummate professional at his craft. The day of I/we were blown away from the beauty created. It felt like home. Like your family's summer house that has been opened just for this occasion. The decor, the flowers, the unexpected touches; the “sweetheart” table that Jackie set-up outside as a photo vignette was PERFECT! I really, truly and unequivocally can not say enough about The Lord Thompson Manor. As the old saying goes “You get what you pay for!” And when the bottom line was shown, it was and it still is worth EVERY LAST PENNY SPENT!!!! If you want an experience that will never again be matched then look no further.
