Today’s, absolutely adorable, wedding idea of the day is a new take on a guest book. While a guest book is a wedding tradition that will never be done away with, sometimes it’s fun to put a new spin on things especially if you’re going for a young, fun, vibe on your wedding day.
Out with the old… In with the new!
What you’ll need:
- Small chalkboards
- White chalk
- Camera
- Tripod
Instead of having guests write their well wishes in a book, have them jot them down on a small chalk board. Then, have a camera set up on a tripod (ask your photographer if she has a security proof tripod, meaning no one will be able to take the camera or the tripod from the position you put it in. If not it’s up to you to decide if you trust not only all of your guests, but the location you’re in and staff there, as well as other wedding’s at the venue if there’s a chance). Have the camera set to self timer so guests won’t have more to do then push a button. Once the guests write down their thoughts have them press the button on the camera (tip use a sticky note or something, cut into the shape of an arrow and have it point directly to the button they need to push to take this photo. This makes things easier for those who may be too young, too old, or just not up on technology.) Then they can step back, hold them up, smile, and preserve their guestbook wishes in a photograph for you.
Not only is this idea cute, but it’s also green! And we can all do a little something to contribute to our plan, even on our wedding day.
What happy thoughts you hope to see in your guest book!?
