I tell every bride I meet that they need to go to The White Dress by The Shore for their gown! I had an incredible experience there. I went to a couple of other stores that weren't really my vibe - I have a very classic style and a lot of the bridal trends today are more bohemian. But White Dress really has everything. My mom and my Maid of Honor came with me, and were able to pick out dresses alongside our awesome consultant, Alexandra. She listened to my feedback and showed me dresses in a variety of styles and prices. I never felt pressured to buy, which was important to me. I ended up with a gorgeous Jenny Yoo dress below budget that was perfect. I had about 5 dresses to choose from at the end and loved them all!! I also got my accessories there - sash and veil. They hooked me up with a lingerie store in Branford and even a seamstress in my hometown of West Hartford. My mom ended up getting her MOTB dress there as well! Highly recommend - this is practically a wedding institution in CT, and for good reason.

My daughter and I were apprehensive as we walked into the charming antique shop-but as the warm and enthusiastic consultant met us and told us She was excited too!-our fears dissipated and we began a wonderful memory.After having mimosa's and modeling many dresses-each one more beautiful than the next!-my daughter's tears and smile told us she had found THE dress.Each one of the staff and especially the owner,Beth,made us feel very special and like my daughter was the only bride who mattered.This experience would not have been the same anywhere else-and we are so grateful! The White Dress by the Shore was the first place that I began my search for my wedding gown. I made an appointment for both myself and my Mom to look for our gowns for my wedding. Before we even began to look at dresses, a staff member sat down with me to discuss what I was looking for, budget, style etc. I really appreciated this since wedding dresses can be expensive if you aren't careful. Then we picked dresses and was assisted not only in the selection but in the actual trying on of each dress. After numerous dresses, I found the ONE! Although it is unusual to find the right dress so quickly, you know the dress once you find it! The staff was honest and worked diligently to stay in my price range. By this time it was past closing time but the staff stayed to help my Mom find her perfect outfit too. Success! The White Dress by the Shore staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and eager to please. I cannot thank you ladies enough for staying so late to help me find my fairy tale dress! You were my first stop and I am happy to say my only stop to find my wedding dress.

I can not say enough about my experience at White Dress. The staff are all experts in the business of bridal attire. The salon is beautiful. As soon as I walked in I was given a memosa to begin the celebration of looking for my gown. The stylist I worked with was very attentive to my tastes and continued working until I found my perfect gown. The selection of gowns is spectacular; any bride could find the dream dress here. When I found my gown, the entire staff was there to congratulate me with glasses of champagne for me and my family to toast to the perfect dress! I would tell anyone to go here for the dream experience.

The White Dress by the Shore has an awesome little house in the back for bridesmaids dresses. You get it all to yourself and your girls and you can try on as many dresses as you would like during your appointment. I found my bridesmaids dresses there and they were beautiful. They were Melissa Sweet and a little pricey but something they can wear again. They loved the dresses and looked great. I also got hairpins during a trunk show there that I wore in my hair. Everyone was beautiful and you feel special while you are there!

This shop was very attentive and personable. Even though they do not have a huge selection they have a nice selection of wedding gowns. They do not have a variety of bridesmaid gowns at all. I would recommend this shop as one of your stops. Unlike most of the big vendor shops you do get personal attention.

I just wanted to thank Beth and her staff soooooooo much for making my bridesmaids and me look absolutely fabulous on the most important day of my life!!!! I honestly couldnt have done it without them. My experience was wonderful, which I must say I was worried about having 10 bridesmaid wearing all different dresses but I was worry free the entire time knowing I was dealing with the best! If I had an concerns Beth was quick to reassure me I should have none!!!! Which Beth was absolutely correct about. Penny did a remarkable job with my dress and adding all the crystals! I couldnt have been happier! Beth should be very proud of you staff, I call them my wedding angles, which includes you Beth :)

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this store. I was hesitant to even enter because I knew it was a higher end shop and would most likely be out of my budget. This was my second bridal boutique that I had been in, the first turned me off so badly I thought for sure this was not going to be an enjoyable experience for me. Beth, the owner, who was warm and welcoming, first greeted me. Within minutes she introduced me to the Lindsay who is amazing. She is so full of life and energy that she is the perfect cure for all nervous brides. Right away you will feel at ease with her. I knew since I am much shorter trying on these gigantic dresses was going to be a challenge. They thought nothing of it, it was like it was second nature to them. After trying on all these beautiful, classic and timeless dresses, I found "the one". I knew it the minute I tried it on. I can’t lie, it was higher then I budgeted so I did decide to shop around some more. I went three other stores afterwards and did not have the same experience nor did I find the same quality and elegance I found at The White Dress By The Shore. Because the designer of my dress was in Woodbridge, CT I was able to work with both Lindsay and Modern Trousseau for all my fittings. They encouraged me to have a muslin fitting (highly recommend doing this girls) so I was confident this dress would fit me like a glove. I knew along with quality, I was paying for the ultimate bridal experience. Both The White Dress By The Shore and Modern Trousseau deliver phenomenal service and are just a wonderful group of women to surround yourself with. I can’t thank them enough, I loved my dress.

I don't know where to begin as I there are so many GREAT things about The White Dress by the Shore. My experience was above and beyond anything I could have ever expected. I did go to other shops first and the this was the last. The price range was a bit above what I wanted to pay- but worth every penny!!! From when you walk in till you leave you are treated like a princess. All the staff are amazing.

Out of all the shops I visited, including those in NYC and Connecticut, The White Dress by the Shore was the best-- the service was so personal, kind, and patient. For our daughter's high school graduation from the Ethel Walker School, Simsbury Ct. we sought an appropriate dress for Commencement and were delighted to do business with Lindsey . A white dress was the school requirement and Lindsey had a similiar experience having graduated from a private girl's school herself and that was a plus. It was a relief to find a dress shop that was offering GRADUATION APPROPRIATE styles. The personal service, expecially knowledge of the options, designers and flattering styles and ample time allowed at our appointment, made our trip well worth it. The dress was in by the promised date and comunication with the store was returned the same day. It is of high quality and fit perfectly. The highlight...our daughter received the award for the 'most outstanding student' (Valedictorian") and we tend to believe that the dress matched the accomplishment!

I wanted simple and elegant, not too many beads and baubles, and nothing that looked cheap! I went into the store and instead of finding 2 dresses i wanted to try on (like all the other stores) i found 10! The lady's understood the truama of not being able to find something that you like and handled me with the kid gloves i needed.... And then as i am chatting away slipping into dress # 5 (which i liked 1-4 they just didn't blow me away) Both me and Lindsay(from the store) looked up and just stopped talking..... That doesn't happen to me!! THIS IS IT!! we both knew instantly! This was the dress! I of course had to bring my mother and aunt back to see it and the same reaction occured!! total silence..and tears from my aunt. every worry gone!! The staff took such good care of me, took away my fears and worries, penny their semstress even came down BEFORE I BOUGHT THE DRESS.. to talk about and difficulties in alterations, NONE by the way... I love this place so much that i wish that i could wear 10 dresses to my wedding just so i could spend more time with them!! Thanks.

Not only is it a "one stop shop" for all your wedding needs but the service, knowledge, staff, and merchandise is top notch. This boutique has set the bar for all other bridal salons. I did alot of shopping for a bridal gown, high end stores in New York, small boutiques, and designer stores. None of them could replicate my experience at The White Dress by the shore. This boutique is not snobby, or pushy. The sales assoicates love what they do, and want you to look and feel your best. They are helpful and know what looks good on your body type and what doesn't. I have to share the unbelievable experience I had @ the White Dress by the Shore. My girlfriend who got married Summer of '06 recommended the store. It was my first stop and I was truly spoiled by the fantastic staff and beautifully designed shop. It is exactly how every bride should feel when shopping for her dress. After trying on some beautiful gowns while sipping champagne I knew I was supposed to look elsewhere, but frankly I adored this shop so much I didn't want to give anyone else my business. However reluctantly, I rode the wedding dress roller coaster all over CT and MA, but found my way back to the "White Dress" and the designer of my top pick happened to be holding a trunk show that day. It all came together and though the sample dress was made for a size B cup, she offered to customize the bodice to my fit. I know the dress is going to be even more amazing on the big day and I learned through this experience that not only is wearing the dress on your wedding day an integral part of getting married but your experience during the search is equally as important. I couldn't imagine this process without The White Dress by the Shore. Thank you ladies! You are the best!

I made an appointment on very short notice and they were happy to accomodate me. I was encouraged to try on as many dresses as I liked and if they were over my budget they let me know so that I didn't fall in love with a dress that I wouldn't be able to afford. Sarah was great and wasn't afraid to tell me whether or not a dress was right for me. Although I didn't end up buying my dress here, I would definitely recommend going to this boutique giving them a try.

I met my husband to be just a few doors down from this store, so I guess it was meant to be! Even without that, this was the most romantic, warm and charming store I had seen, it was the only place that did not give the impression of a warehouse and a rotating door for it's clients. They had a lot of expensive dresses, but they also had dresses that I could afford (under 2,000$) that were beautiful and of good quality. And not once did they push an expensive dress on me, they made sure they met all the criteria I needed. Lindsay and Beth were courteous, extremely knowledgable and determined to find the right dress for you. (And find it they will). I was one of the more indecisvie brides, they were more than patient, and if I wasn't 100% sure about a dress, they found out what could be done or look at another dress altogether. ****They took digital photos and emailed them to me so I could compare all of them at home, something I was really grateful for and found no where else****** Basically here's how good they were, when I found a dress I wanted at another store that they did not carry, I decided not to buy it and buy what they had. I trusted them that much and they made that good of an impression on me and my mother. When I was thinking of buying the other dress both my mom and I found not being able to buy it from them a major drawback to the dress, crazy as it sounds. They found something even better than what I originally wanted anyway! They have superb taste, I can't recommend them enough. I can't wait to go back to look at veils and shoes....... oh and my bridesmaids of course! :)

As a resident of Manhattan, I visited many stores in New York and Southern Connecticut prior to my appointment at Beth Chapman's delightful boutique. From the moment I walked into her store, which could serve as a back drop to one of Nora Ephron's romantic films, I was enamored. Stunning wedding gowns of satin, silk and lace line the mint green walls - each having their own distinct and classic look. Antique-glass armoires display stunning jewelry and accessories while oversized mirrors reflect the sparkle and light from each case. You can feel the subtle background wedding classic, Pachel's Cannon, lift your imagination and transform you to your future wedding day. Beth’s attention to detail and impeccable sense of style is clearly evident in her store. My bridesmaids’ dresses also came from her collection and when I was deciding on a color she used her vision on what I might like and suggested adding a small brooch to accent the girl’s Cayman blue sash. Everyone looked stunning. Visiting the White Dress by the Shore is an experience. It is so much more than I can possibly say; it will remain etched in my mind for years to come and I look forward to returning with my sister and friends when it is their time to plan their special day.

After searching all over Connecticut, parts of NYC and Boston I came across The White Dress by the Shore.
