Lace Factory

Lace Factory Connecticut

Rustic, Chic, Vintage- AMAZING!  Almost 6000 square feet of open floor plan, great light, great space, Photographers LOVE this space. Amazing photo ops: Steam Train, Castle, River, not to mention the factory itself! OH and the food -farm fresh and delicious!

Beginning as a local shipbuilding yard, then dockage for the ivory being delivered  to local piano factories, Deep River Landing has a long history as a center of activity.  Constructed in 1875, the building that came to house “The Lace Factory” with its landmark chimney has become an integral part of the picturesque location at the edge of the Connecticut River.

Now, the Deep River Landing offers a gazebo park with picnic area and boat launch. Kayakers, boaters, fishermen, jet skiers and hunters alike gather throughout year for direct access to the river. It is home port to the Becky Thatcher Riverboat. An over the water viewing deck offers the opportunity to see eagles soaring on a crisp clear day or to fish just about any time. Train enthusiasts young and old can be awed by the Essex Steam Train steamily chugging by only feet away. The Deep River Landing hosts an occasional public concert, wedding or special get together and continues to be an attraction for both locals and visitors to the area. Located at the heart of Deep River Landing, The Lace Factory is a destination unto itself, complimenting the existing attractions  and adding more enjoyment to the Landing.

What the experts have to say about this venue:

The Lace Factory is one of my favorites, its a very original venue with lots of opportunities to make it your own.  Mary Beth – Capture Photography

This venue is truly unique. For the bride who wants an ‘out of the box’ wedding venue, this is one of my favorites. I love the rustic feel of this venue and how special that the guests can be escorted to the party on a steam train?  Beth Chapman – The White Dress by the Shore

DO NOT HAVE A WEDDING AT THIS PLACE IN THE SUMMER. There is minimal air conditioning and the heat was oppressive. The decor is nice and the food was ok.

The venue is beautiful with wood plank floors, large bar. The appetizers were great but you had to flag down the waiters passing the food. The our meal which was steak or fish was less than typical banquet food. The steak was fatty and tough and cold and the fish choice was also cold and very dry. I also did no like that they cleared your tables using wicker baskets that leaked with drinks they collected at tables. There were drops of liquid that were dangerous to walk on with high shoes or elderly. You also had to flag people down to wipe that up also. So I loved the look of the venue but the food was below average.

My husband and I were recently married and had our reception at The Lace Factory in Deep River. I knew the moment I saw this venue, that it was a perfect fit for our rustic/vintage themed wedding. The setting was unique and beautiful and blew our guests away! The natural lighting was beautiful, and our photographer captured the most lovely photographs. The staff at the venue was great and made our vision a reality.

We just had our wedding at the Lace Factory with Cloud 9 as the caterer...It was simply wonderful. Ever since I first saw photos of a wedding held at the Lace Factory, I knew I wanted to have my wedding there. The building really isn't a "cookie cutter" wedding venue; it is so unique, charming, and beautiful...It was perfect for us. It also helped to have such helpful staff. Not once during the 1+ year of planning did I feel I wasn't being listened to. Each and every person I dealt with was attentive and friendly. They made us feel special as if we were the only ones they were focusing on. They made the planning process easy and painless. The one downfall with the Lace Factory was that parking was limited...however this was a positive for us at the same time. We ended up transporting people to the Lace Factory via the Essex Steam Train...which again was perfect. It was fun and something that not many other people can do for their wedding. I actually don't mind that we had to find alternative parking..it really made for an awesome experience! Ultimately, all our guests raved about each and every part or our wedding..from the train ride in...to the location of the Lace Factory...to appearance and decorations of the venue..to the attentiveness of the staff...and of course to the food. Each and every part made for a perfect night for us and our guests and we couldn't be more thankful. Because of Cloud 9 and The Lace Factory, we had the perfect wedding..a night we will never forget..we just wish we could do it all over again! And maybe we will for our 25th anniversary!!

I cannot say enough good things about this venue. I loved the location, the interior, the character of the entire place. Most of my guests had never heard of the place and were amazed by the beauty of it and how perfectly it matched my personality and style. I would recommend this venue again and again. I wish I could have an event there every weekend! The only downfall would be the limit to the time we were allowed there, we had to be out of there by 10pm, due to the location, it being in a residential area. I would have loved for our wedding to have gone until 11 or 12pm. Everyone said the service was great. I will review the caterer in another review but the owner of the Lace Factory also owns Cloud Nine Catering, so we used them for the food! The wedding was exactly how I pictured it would be in my mind! Gorgeous place to have a wedding!
